This morning I looked at myself in the mirror…

I sized myself up and down and then told myself what I always wanted to hear.

I am worth the diamond ring and my soulmate down on one knee. I am worth being waited for and the big wedding. I’m worth being called first and beautiful, thoughtful text messages before I sleep and good morning messages hen I wake up. I’m worth being told secrets and big news first. I’m worth every second of a date where I’m being given everything that I want. I’m worth love, respect, and dignity. 

…And you know what? It was the first time I believed every word.
